In remote rural areas of Uttarakhand, even the most rudimental medical facilities are scarce. Furthermore, most male breadwinners migrate to cities for work, depriving their families of a steady income and resulting in medication and treatment that is impossible to access and afford.
AITYS began by organising free medical camps to meet the basic medical needs of villagers in the area. During our camps, we not only provide villagers with a primary health check-up, we also engage in dialogue with locals to understand their socio-economic situation and school infrastructure. We identify areas for improvement and potential further initiatives, such as our successful ‘Multi-Vitamin’ and ‘Gift-A-Pad’ Programmes.
No child should be deprived of education due to poverty.
